Overview#

Verified Search is your AI-powered search assistant that finds, synthesizes, and verifies information from across the web. Every source is scored using the Research Source Index (RSI) — a 6-dimension quality metric covering authority, recency, methodology, corroboration, relevance, and access — so you always know how trustworthy your results are.

Navigate to Search from the sidebar to get started. Type your question, choose a focus mode, and get verified answers with inline citations.

Searching with Verification#

Ask any question and get a comprehensive, source-verified answer. Each source shows an RSI quality score — green (70%+) means highly reliable, yellow (40-69%) means moderate, and red means use with caution.

Navigate to Search

Open Search from the sidebar under the Create section.

Type your question

Enter your question in the search bar at the bottom of the page.

Review verified results

Your answer streams in with inline citations like [1], [2]. Each source has an RSI quality badge so you know how trustworthy it is.

Continue the conversation

Ask follow-up questions in the same thread for a full conversational experience.

Focus Modes#

Focus your search on a specific domain for more targeted results. Select a focus mode chip above the search input before typing your question.

Pro Tip

The Writing mode acts as a professional writing assistant, while the Math mode uses LaTeX notation for precise mathematical formulas and derivations.

Create a public link to share your entire search conversation — including sources and RSI quality scores — with anyone.

Open the Share dialog

Click the Share button in the toolbar when you have an active conversation.

Create a share link

Click "Create Share Link" to generate a unique public URL.

Copy and share

Click the copy button to copy the link. You'll see "Link copied to clipboard." Share the link with anyone — they can view the conversation without signing in.

Viewers see a read-only version of your conversation with a "VERIFIED SEARCH THREAD" badge, all sources with RSI scores, and a "Verified by PromptReports.ai" footer. To revoke a link, open the Share dialog and click "Revoke Link."

Exporting#

Download your search conversation as a formatted document with all sources and RSI scores included.

Click Export

Click the "Export" dropdown button in the toolbar.

Choose a format

Select "Export as PDF" for a formatted document, "Export as DOCX" for a Word file (Professional plan required), or "Copy as Markdown" to copy to your clipboard.

Download or copy

PDF and DOCX files download automatically. Markdown is copied to your clipboard with a confirmation message.

Branding Note

On the Explorer (free) plan, PDF exports always include PromptReports.ai branding. Upgrade to Professional to make branding optional.

File Upload#

Attach files to your search query so the AI can reference your documents when answering. Supported formats include PDF, DOCX, TXT, CSV, XLSX, PNG, JPG, JPEG, and WebP.

Attach files

Click the paperclip icon in the search bar, or drag and drop files onto the upload area.

Review uploaded files

Uploaded files appear as chips showing name and size. Click the X on any chip to remove it.

Submit your query

Type your question and press Enter. The AI uses your files as additional context for that query. Files are cleared after submission.

Media Results#

When your search involves visual topics, relevant images and videos appear automatically as horizontal scrollable cards alongside your text answer. Click any card to open the source in a new tab. Using the Video focus mode always triggers video results.

Tip

Not every query triggers media results — only visually relevant ones. Try adding keywords like "diagram," "chart," or "tutorial video" to see media results.

Voice Input#

Speak your search query instead of typing. Click the microphone button in the search bar to start recording — it turns red with a pulsing animation. Click again to stop. Your spoken text appears in the search input for review before submitting.

Browser Support

Voice input is available on Chrome, Safari, and Edge. The microphone button is automatically hidden on unsupported browsers like Firefox.

Spaces#

Organize your search threads into project workspaces. Each Space can have custom instructions (up to 2,000 characters) that shape how the AI responds to every search in that Space.

Create a Space

In the sidebar, find the "SPACES" section and click the + button. Enter a name and click "Create."

Select a Space

Click a Space name to filter your history to that Space's conversations. New searches are automatically assigned to the selected Space.

Add custom instructions

Right-click a Space and choose "Instructions" to add instructions like "Always respond with financial analysis context."

Manage Spaces

Right-click for options: "Rename," "Instructions," or "Delete." Deleting a Space moves its conversations to All Threads.

Personalization#

The AI automatically adapts its responses based on your professional profile, style preferences, and things it has learned from past conversations. Fill in your professional title, expertise areas, and preferred tone in your Settings to activate personalization. If you have no profile data, responses remain unchanged.

Home Feed#

When you first visit Search with no active conversation, you see a welcome screen with the heading "Search with Verification" and the tagline "Every source scored. Every claim verifiable. Ask anything." Click any starter suggestion to begin searching, or click a recent conversation to resume it.

Image Generation#

Generate images from text prompts directly in your search conversations. After receiving an answer, click the "Generate Image" button below the response. The AI generates a 1024x1024 image which appears inline. Click the X button to dismiss it.

FAQ#

Can I share a conversation and then add more messages?
Yes. Your share link always shows the latest version. New messages are visible to anyone with the link.

What happens if I revoke a share link?
The link stops working immediately. Anyone visiting it sees a "not found" page. You can create a new link at any time.

Why can't I see the DOCX export option?
DOCX export requires the Professional plan. PDF and Markdown exports are available on all plans.

Why does my PDF have a PromptReports.ai footer?
Explorer plan PDFs always include branding. Upgrade to Professional to make it optional.

What file types can I upload?
PDF, DOCX, TXT, CSV, XLSX, PNG, JPG, JPEG, and WebP files are supported.

Why don't I see the microphone button?
Voice input requires Chrome, Safari, or Edge. It's hidden on unsupported browsers like Firefox.

Will deleting a Space delete my conversations?
No. Conversations move to "All Threads" — nothing is deleted.

Why don't I see image or video results?
Media results only appear for visually relevant queries. Try the Video focus mode or add keywords like "diagram" or "chart."
